National Merit Semifinalists Named from South Pasadena High School

On September 11, 2024, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. SPHS semifinalists join approximately 16,000 qualifying students nationwide and represent less than one percent of U.S high school seniors nationally competing for about 6,870 scholarships. Semifinalists qualify by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and earning among the highest scores in the state.

Congratulations to William Chang, Peter Dickinson, Ethan (Suh-Hyun) Kang, Isole Kim, Max Slattery, Morgan Sun, Ryan Wong, Christine Xu, and Ty (Taidi) Yue. These talented SPHS seniors now have the opportunity to compete for National Merit scholarships, which will be announced in spring 2025.

Go, Tigers!
