Two South Pasadena High School juniors, Zachary Lee and Abigail Lee, curated the “Very Asian Art Exhibit” at the South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) Gallery within the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Reflecting on their heritage, the students created a place where voices come together and share what it means to be Asian American.
As part of the exhibit, Mandarin Dual Immersion middle school students, with the support of their teacher Mo Yang, submitted artwork, and five pieces were selected for display. Congratulations to the following SPMS students who collaborated on their featured artwork: Madalena Hong, Madeleine Du, Jeanelle Tayco; Nadine Hillman, Brooklyn Chang, Dylan Bracamontes, Marisol Barba; Austin Tsai, Oliver Nickel, Colin Hsia; Derek Lee, Julian Caceres, Cameron Cambell, Devin Wong; Hannah Huh and Maya Bennett.
The exhibit will be on display until May 31, 2024, at 1121 Mission Street, South Pasadena, Calif. Go, Tigers and Tiger Cubs!
