After months of researching, writing, preparing and practicing, SPHS students competed in the History Day Los Angeles County Championships at San Gabriel High School on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Every one of SPHS' entries placed in the contest against more than 200 students from 27 high schools. The theme of the competition this year was Debate & Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.
Under the direction of Social Science teacher Oliver Valcorza, SPHS has competed in History Day LA for three years, and each year, SPHS students have advanced to the state contest for National History Day. These victories are a testament to the students’ and teacher’s hard work and dedication.
