Important 2009-2010 Registration Information:
Every year we have registration for all students, new and returning, a few weeks before school starts.
(Students New to South Pasadena School District must first make an appointment with the high school registrar Rebecca Quiñones at (626) 441-5820 x2906)
The high school office is closed beginning July 28 and reopens August 10. Beginning August 10, registration packets may be picked up in the high school main office Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm and on Tuesday, August 18th, the office will be open until 7:00 pm. Only parents or guardians (pre-approved by the District Office) with identification and three proofs of residency may obtain materials. (See “Proofs of Residency” below.)
When you pick up your packet at the high school office, it will be much smaller than in years past. In order to save paper, some of our registration documents are online, and we ask that you view the online portion of the registration documents by clicking the links below. After reading the online documents, please sign the “Information Acknowledgement Form” that has been provided in your packet (and, for your convenience, online).
Packets must be picked up by August 24th. Please note that this is not the same packet as the one you completed for initial enrollment at SPHS. On August 25th & 26th, students will have their ID pictures and yearbook pictures taken, hand in registration materials, and pick up their class schedules.
When your students register on August 25 (Seniors and Juniors) and August 26 (Sophomores and Freshmen), they need to bring:
1. A signed copy of the “Information Acknowledgement Form” with parent/guardian signature, and
2. The other required (hard copy) registration documents that you will receive when you pick up your packet of
registration materials.

The following documents will also be given to you at registration but we have included them here for you viewing.
• Student Accident & Health Insurance Brochure (provided in your Registration Packet - not available online)
• Emergency/Information Card (provided in your Registration Packet - not available online)
Registration dates are August 25 and 26. On Tuesday, August 25, seniors are scheduled for the morning, juniors in the afternoon. On August 26, sophomores are scheduled for the morning, while freshmen are in the afternoon. More specific times are included in the registration packet. Registration will include textbook checkout. After receiving the locator card listing courses and teachers, students will check out their textbooks at the textbook windows. Textbooks will not be checked out during class time once school begins. Additionally, the textbook room is not open after registration until school begins.
As a reminder:
Proofs of residency must be original and current with the parent/guardian’s name and address on them. Bring one document from each of the following three categories:
1. Deed of trust, mortgage payment receipt, rental agreement listing all residents, property tax bill, or closing escrow papers.
2. Gas bill, electricity bill, water bill, Time Warner cable bill, or residence telephone bill.
3. Current car registration, car insurance statement, health insurance statement, current bank statement, pay stub, or current federal or state tax forms. |
